Edible Psychology is on a mission to train nutrition and health professionals to become leaders in applying the science of wellbeing, behavioral sciences and emotional intelligence to their healthcare practices. Our training will give you the education and tools to help you guide others to develop greater self-awareness, self-efficacy, emotional agility and resiliency skills to improve overall wellbeing.

The G|R|O|W in health training program uses the crossroads of multiple fields of science to improve knowledge and skills in those that want to develop a greater solution-focused wellness-based approach to facilitating health behavior change.

We’ve created an approachable, modern and totally relatable style of training workshops that connect, make sense, and create big shifts for those that want to intentionally grow in their skills to develop overall wellbeing in their clients.

Training Description

G|R|O|W IN HEALTH is an evidence-based Nutrition Counseling Training Program. Over the course of 10 intensive hours the lectures and interactive group discussions will help you to learn more about foundational wellbeing and behavioral theories; help you to discover and improve your own self-awareness; provide you feedback so that you can grow in your own practical skills and give you a supportive network to help you continue to develop into an inspiring counselor that helps facilitate healthy changes in others.

Attendees will learn by exploring, practicing, and reflecting on the following:

  • The G|R|O|W in Health Program Counseling principles

  • Learning how to apply Positive Psychology, the science of Mental Wellbeing, to nutrition counseling.

  • Developing a deeper understanding of the Science of Behavior Change and Motivation

  • Learning to support a Growth Mindset and help your clients build Resiliency Skills

  • Learning the steps to an effective solution-focused Counseling Session.

  • Developing a strength-based interviewing skills that will help to promote long-term change.

  • Developing a systems-based approach to goal setting.

  • Developing greater awareness of non-verbal body language and how to spot when a client needs different support.

The Training component of this Program will be facilitated Virtually through 2021.

As part of the training, attendees will receive:

  • A Virtual copy of the G|R|O|W Training Workbook

  • 2 months free access to group supervision sessions as a follow-up to the training

  • An invitation to join the network of the G|R|O|W program alumni dietitians and leaders that meet quarterly to support each other and learn more about how apply new approaches and updated science to their practice.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Sara Soyeju, RD, MAPP is a professor of Nutrition Counseling - Theory and Practice at New York University (NYU) and specializes in applying Positive Psychology, Emotional Intelligence (EQ), and Resilience to dietary and health counseling practices. She is a seasoned instructor who draws on her extensive experience counseling patients as a research and community dietitian in communities throughout the nation. She aims to create a unique learning environment that is truly memorable.
